Also, similar to all of the Saatva Company’s bed mattress, the Saatva Classic is provided by movers, rather than in a box. Saatva likewise uses a generous 180-day trial duration and easy returns.

Note: Saatva just recently updated the Zenhaven, altering the type of latex used in its foam layers. The Zenhaven now includes Dunlop latex, instead of Talalay latex; read more about the differences below. We plan to test the new variation soon and will upgrade this guide with our impressions.
The all-foam Zenhaven consists mainly of latex, which is inherently resilient. The Zenhaven is also flippable (the High-end Plush side feels medium-firm, while the Gentle Firm side feels a bit firmer), which may prove handy if you’re not sure what you prefer or if your requirements change over time. This is not a conventionally cushy mattress, however it uses a supple cushion, excellent edge support, and a subtle springiness. Given its natural sturdiness, the Zenhaven needs to work well for individuals who weigh more than 200 pounds.
These mattresses were also evaluated in our group tests performed for Wirecutter’s guides to the best foam mattresses and the best innerspring mattresses. As Wirecutter’s senior personnel author for sleep, I’ve spoken with scores of professionals in the mattress industry and in products science; gone to dozens of bed mattress showrooms, factories, and stores; and pored over the great print on specifications, service warranties, and return policies.

We have not yet done a deep dive into the “natural” claims of Saatva or of other “eco-friendly” brand names. However we do understand that the business utilizes thistle pulp or natural wool as a flame retardant (as opposed to fiberglass or chemicals) and just organic cotton (instead of artificial blends) in its covers. As do other online bed mattress companies, Saatva touts such extras as zoned layers for “ideal spinal column support”; we’re less impressed with those features and more appreciative of Saatva’s responsive customer service and resilient foams and coils.
